Laura Halladay has been sharing her love and knowledge of music as an educator for over 30 years. A former student of Los Angeles Philharmoniic Principal Flautist, Roger Stevens with a Bachelors of Music from California State University Northridge and a Masters of Music from California State University Los Angeles, Laura is known for combining her extensive education with the practical insights born of her years as a professional flutist in a broad range of styles and genres to create a flexible, patient and nurturing approach to teaching piano, flute and music composition. An approach that has benefitted her many students over the years - regardless of their age or previous musical experience.
Being a long standing member of the Music Teachers Association of California allows Laura's students to participate in regularly scheduled recitals and festivals joining with the community of students from other area teachers. As well as participate in MTAC's Certificate of Merit program which allows her students to be evaluated yearly against established benchmarks of not only instrumental proficiency, but of general musicianship as well. Outside of her private teaching studio, Laura has for the past few years taught at the Spirit of Music Camp in North Hollywood, accompanied and taught in the Community Colleges, and has long been an associate with School for Young Performers.
