A Contemporary Instrumental and New Age composer, Janice Lacy's first release, Sanctuary for the Soul, by the Janice Lacy Project, debuted at #8 on the Zone Music Reporter Top 100 Radio Airplay Chart for January, 2017, and was in the top ten for two months, staying on the chart for a total of five months. Lacy says, “I want my music to serve as a sanctuary, a refuge, a place of safety, peace, healing and joy, where listeners can go when they need to escape from the pressures and stress of the world around them.”

Brooklyn-born and driven by soul, Janie May writes songs about what happens after you survive, when you choose yourself and don’t look back. Rooted in Alternative Pop Soul with R&B and Country influences, Janie crafts lyrically incisive anthems that explore identity, resilience, and emotional freedom. Her stage name is an homage to the fierce protagonist of Zora Neale Hurston’s "Their Eyes Were Watching God," reflecting Janie’s own artistic journey toward voice, agency, and self-definition.

In her own words, "I'm 74 years old and have been a published professional songwriter since I was 13. I lost my ability to sing in 2022, but I remain very active in the community, narrating audiobooks and collaborating with my colleagues as a guitarist, pianist, and speaker. Love writing of all kinds. Love music of all kinds. Life could be a lot worse."

Janky is an Austin, TX-based, singer-guitarist that plays a very underground style of blues originated in the seedy juke joints of North Mississippi. Janky is on a mission to bring the juke joint style blues back to the world of the blues.
