Paul SF Ackah, professionally known as POPE FLYNE, is an Artist, a Master Drummer and Choreographer. He is also an educator, music producer, composer and performer. Originally hailing from Ghana, Pope was the lead vocalist for the legendary SWEET TALKS BAND OF GHANA, where he helped to bring the art of music to new heights. When he's not on stage, he shares his joyful spirit and vast knowledge of African folk music, dancing and percussion with his legions of American students.
Pope has been a faculty member at St. Mary's College of California since 1995. He received his teacher training at the New College of San Francisco (1993 to 2000). From 1993 to 1997 he was a faculty member at the University of California at Berkeley, teaching Choreography and Accompaniment. In addition he has worked under contract for the Oakland Unified School District since 1996.
