American baritone Mitchell Hutchings has been heard throughout the United States and abroad, from Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall to the Antonin Dvorak Museum in Prague. Mitchell's students and clients have been featured artists in Rolling Stone, have sung on the Metropolitan Opera stage (MONC semis), and have attended or will attend the Yale School of Music, Mannes School of Music, Florida State University, Penn State University, Eastman School of Music, and Boston University among others.

Mitchell has worked with multiple commercial artists as a coach, arranger, and vocal producer. He is also a Professional Member of the Recording Academy. Because of his unique interdisciplinary training in vocal pedagogy and pathology, he has twice assisted in the identification of thyroid nodules in singers that were later confirmed as papillary carcinoma. Mitchell continues to research vocal pedagogy topics and publishes regularly to the MH Voice Studio blog.  Equally at home on the stage, his notable roles in opera and musical theatre include Marcello in La bohème, John Proctor in The Crucible, Michele in Il tabarro, the title role in Sweeney Todd, the demon barber of Fleet Street, the title role in Gianni Schicchi, Escamillo in La tragédie de Carmen, Mercutio in Roméo et Juliette, Tarquinius in The Rape of Lucretia, Germont in La traviata, Marco in Gianni Schicchi, Father in Ragtime, Marullo in Rigoletto, Frank in Die Fledermaus, Quince in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Jud Fry in Oklahoma!, and Benoit & Alcindoro in La bohème. Mitchell has been a Resident Artist of Opera Saratoga, Des Moines Metro Opera, Pensacola Opera, Charlottesville Opera, Dicapo Opera Theatre, and Opera Maine.

Mitchell is an alumnus of Florida State University and Western Carolina University. He graduated from the Eastman School of Music with a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in 2018. He currently holds the position of Assistant Professor of Music at Florida Atlantic University. He resides in Florida
