Multi-award winning composer and musician, Mark Barnes, ThE BaD BoY oF ChilL OuT, will open your third eye – musically speaking. Barnes’ music has been featured in numerous magazines and web sites, including Shine On Hollywood Magazine (Mar. 2016), New Age Music World (Sept 2011 & Dec. 2012), EmmeK New Age and New Sounds Magazine (Dec. 2007) and AMMA AnR (Aug. 2007). He was a top 20 finalist in the instrumental category for the 11th annual edition of Unisong’s International Songwriting Contest and was the featured artist for October 2007 on the “Pulse of the Planet” radio program. Additionally, Barnes music is regularly played on numerous FM and internet Radio stations including Pandora, Spotify, ITunes Radio, Mystic Age Radio, Mystic Soundscapes Internet Radio, Rainbow World Radio, 97.1 The Coast, Happy Days New Age Radio, and the Cygnus Radio program to name a few. His songs have also been selected for several compilation CDs.
Barnes was awarded the 2008 Independent National Artist of the year award from the Phoenix Music Awards and was a performer as well as the recipient of the 2008 Hollywood F.A.M.E. Award for Music & Cinema at the 18th Annual Los Angeles Music Awards. Barnes was also awarded the 2009 Soloist of the Year Award at the 19th Annual Los Angeles Music Awards, the 2010 & 2011 Composer of the Year at the 20th & 21st Annual Los Angeles Music Awards and was the recipient of the 2010 Genre Award in Music at the Pride in the Arts Music Awards sponsored by Rainbow World Radio.
Barnes’ work on the music for the Docu-Drama “City of Dreams” with 2-time Academy Award Nominee Carol Connors won the Best Theme Song at the 2011 TCI Film Festival. Songs from his “Alive”, “Storm Of Solace”, “In The Beginning”, “Once Upon A Time” & “The Path” CD releases have earned him the Outstanding Musician for the Instrumental / Soundtrack category at the Live Nation sponsored 7th & 8th Annual OutMusic Awards, the Best Easy Listening Male Artist for the 2012, 2014, 2016, 2019, & 2020 Indie Music Channel Awards, Best Instrumental Male Artist for the 2015 & 2017 Indie Music Channel Awards and Best Ambient / Instrumental Album of 2016 & 2017 for The Akademia Music Awards. The Adademia has also awarded Barnes with the 2020 Vision & the 2021 Rising Star Awards.
