ISSA•KAMAL is a multidisciplinary creative whose vibrant artistry and unwavering passion for music, dance, and theatre have cemented his status as a cultural luminary. Born and raised in the magnificent Federation of Saint Christopher (St Kitts) and Nevis, his journey into the world of music began at an early age, inspired by the melodic strains of his grandparents' antique piano. This initial encounter with music blossomed into a lifelong love affair that has enabled him to effortlessly traverse the realms of classical and contemporary genres.

While renowned for his expertise on the piano, Issa's musical prowess extends to ten different instruments, including Afro-Caribbean drums, steel pan, West Indian fife, vocals, organ, and keyboard synth.  ISSA•KAMAL’s eclectic artistry is a testament to his rich West Indian heritage and his fascination with new-age revivals of classic musical styles. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Music, with a deep passion for Ethnomusicology from the City University of New York. His formal training at the Hulda Lawrence School of Music, where he achieved Grade 8 level passes with distinctions in the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music’s Piano Exams, laid the foundation for his exceptional musical journey.

His prodigious talent was evident early on when he achieved the highest scores in the Caribbean for the music component of the Caribbean Examination Council's Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Exam in Performing Arts in 2015.   Throughout his adolescent conventional academic journey, ISSA•KAMAL demonstrated an extraordinary ability to balance socio-academic pursuits. At Basseterre High School and Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College, he was a beacon of leadership and creativity, actively participating in the Symphonic Ensemble, Chorale Ensemble, Dance Ensemble, History and Heritage Club, and Debating Society, among others.

Beyond public service, ISSA•KAMAL has served as Organist and Director of Music within the St Kitts’ and Eastern Conferences of Moravian Churches and the Catholic Community, gracing prolific dignitary events such as the National Independence State Service of Saint Christopher and Nevis with his musical talents. His performances with various cultural and contemporary cover bands have left indelible marks on the music scene of St Kitts and Nevis.  ISSA•KAMAL’s versatility extends to theatre, where he shone in lead roles such as 'Ishmael' in 'Moby Dick Rehearsed' and 'Mark' in 'Candy Cane Lane: A Recipe For Life'. His creativity has earned him numerous accolades, including the prestigious 25 Most Remarkable Teens award in Music (2012) and the St. Kitts and Nevis National Junior Calypso Monarch title (2012). In 2023, he was the first runner-up in the Saint Kitts and Nevis National Senior Calypso Monarch competition.

ISSA•KAMAL’s most prestigious performances include his vocal contributions at Carnegie Hall’s 'Vocal Colors', his directing of the Kittivisian folkloric delegation to the BRAATA’s BANKRA Caribbean Culture Festival, and his feature as composer and performer at Saint Kitts and Nevis’ National Carnival Opening Ceremonies where he composed and performed the event’s official anthem.  As Co-Founder, CEO, and Music Director of the VISION™ series, ISSA•KAMAL has spearheaded an initiative to uplift and expand the collective consciousness of the nation's music creators and consumers. Launched in March 2022, VISION™ aims to reconnect traditional music culture with modern lifestyles through creative edification and live performance, honouring the timeless impact of musical arts on society.

ISSA•KAMAL's expertise extends beyond music. He has been a talent coach for numerous pageants, guiding contestants to success in local and regional competitions. His mentorship has helped many achieve accolades such as Miss Teen Saint Kitts and Nevis, Miss Teen Caribbean, Mister and Miss Saint Kitts and Nevis, Junior and Senior Calypso crowns, Speech competition winners, among others.

ISSA•KAMAL’s dedication to community service is as remarkable as his artistic talents. He has volunteered for numerous initiatives, including the Creatives for Justice and Peace fundraising concert, which aimed to raise awareness and support for social justice causes. He also participated in the Blue Bear Campaign, organized by St. Kitts and Nevis’ Federal Department of Probation and Child Protection Services, advocating for the welfare and protection of children. As a camp counsellor at the Children’s Dance Theatre Performing Arts Summer Day Camp and the University of the West Indies (St Kitts) Youth Summer Day Camp, he brought enthusiasm and mentorship to young campers, nurturing their artistic talents and fostering a love for the arts.

His volunteerism reflects a profound commitment to using his gifts to make a positive impact on his community, embodying the spirit of service and creativity.  ISSA•KAMAL’s life is a testament to the mantra of his musical mentor, Masud Sadiki: "Keep counting your blessings." With a heart full of gratitude and a spirit guided by music, he continues to inspire and uplift, proving that excellence and divinity walk hand in hand. His journey, marked by a symphony of talents and a vision for the future, encourages us all to follow our hearts and let spirit be our guide. Thrive in your excellence, for in ISSA•KAMAL’s world, the rhythm of life is a melody of endless possibilities.
