Born Anthony Aquino, son of Dominican immigrants — AQ is a millennial like no other. Raised during the golden era of hip hop, in the Highbridge section of the Bronx, AQ was exposed to music of all types. His first love was bachata but at age 16 he picked up the mic for hip hop and never looked back. AQ’s debut album NO BETTER DAY$ COMIN’ became a classic in the New York underground hip hop scene. With the singles such as “Where I’m From,” “Better Daze” and “To My City” AQ accentuates his ability of storytelling and profound lyricism. AQ switches gears and shows his versatility with hits like “Flexin’ on My Ex” and “Difference.”

Throughout his career AQ has performed all over New York City and East Coast USA and has even stamped his passport in France and Mexico for international gigs. In 2018, AQ became a finalist in the famous Amateur Night at The Apollo. AQ plans to return to The Apollo stage in the spring of 2022. During the global pandemic with venues closing down, his following only grew. AQ quickly went online and performed for artists such as Trey Songz, Brandy, Queen Naija and Tory Lanez to name a few. AQ’s second body of work, released in 2021, L.I.T.T. (Livin’ In Troubled Times) displays his amazing adaptation to world change. The seven track EP is a collection of vulnerability and depth with uptempo songs which continue to demonstrate AQ’s never ending transformation. AQ expresses his first language, Spanish with Spanglish single, “Tranki” — “Yeah, I was tripping cuando tu te fuiste but now I be laughing porque...I’m focused on money now when they move funny me paro y le saco los pies.” “Fuck It Up,” “Let Me Live” and “Goat” truly display AQ’s versatility in having fun with a trap beat and adding conscience punchlines. AQ’s life work is to inspire the youth to be a better version of themselves and to constantly evolve by chasing their dreams. 1994 til’ infinity!
