Andy Mitran

Andy Mitran is a Chicago-based composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and five-time Emmy Award winner whose career has spanned television, recording, production, and contemporary instrumental music. For years, Andy served as Music Director and the on-screen “Professor Andy” for WGN-TV’s legendary The Bozo Show, composing, arranging, performing, and producing music for television.

He is also co-owner of Mitran Music, where his work as a composer and producer has reached audiences through a wide range of media and recording projects. Today, Andy focuses on contemporary instrumental music, both as a solo artist and in collaboration with other musicians. His recent solo album, "More Now Everywhere," explores presence, reflection, and the idea of finding the “now” wherever we are.

He also records with longtime collaborator and wind instrumentalist Al Jewer; their music blends acoustic instruments, electronics, improvisation, and richly textured production. Throughout his career, Andy has remained drawn to collaboration – bringing musicians together, exploring new musical possibilities, and creating work that combines strong melodic writing with an adventurous sonic palette.
