Andrew Barkan

Andrew Barkan is a blind multi-instrumentalist, film composer and kids media maker living in Santa Monica, CA. He has scored 75 independent films and documentaries, including seven features. 

With his Emmy® nominated partner Polly Hall, Andrew & Polly make songs and scores for Children’s television, award-winning music for families heard by millions on Sirius XM, and Ear Snacks – a podcast centered on kids voices & ideas. Their credits include music for Apple TV+, Netflix, Nickelodeon, Sony, Disney, Sesame Workshop, and brands such as Google, Facebook, Nike, GE, Levi’s, IKEA, Toyota and Sprint. 

Andrew is a voting member of the Recording Academy (The GRAMMYS®), and a founding board member of Kids Listen, a grassroots non-profit advocating for high quality audio content for children. He writes and lectures about music for documentaries and media for children. He's a former choir conductor and poker player, current basketball player, and father of three.
