An Vedi

An Vedi is an internationally award-winning composer, singer/songwriter, violinist, and music teacher. She's won The Elgar Medal (UK), The Akademia Music Awards (USA), and received several nominations in the ISSA Awards (USA). She is a member of the International Society of Jazz Arrangers and Composers, an Associate Member of the Boston New Music Initiative, and the first female Russian member of the Indie Collaborative and the ISSA (USA).

Anastasia was born in 1991, her mother is the architect and her father is engineer. She began to play the violin at the age of 4. At the age of 7 she began to play the piano, and at the age of 8 she composed her first music pieces for piano and synthesizer. She studied at the Central Music School (1998-2009), where her teachers  were professors V.Pikaizen and E.Grach. At the age of 15, Anastasia had  a long cardiac arrest, as a result of which she had almost a month  break in her College program.

After  CMS Anastasia studied at Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory  (2009-2014)  and then Postgraduate studying of Conservatory (2014-2017).

In 2017 she began to work as Solo performer in Philharmonic and one of  founders of the  non-profit fund "Palette of the Universe." She has Certificates of Achievement in "Creativity & Enterpreneurship", "Sound Recording Technology" and "Guitar" (BerkleeX courses, 2017-2018).

Her  teachers were professors: Victor Pikaizen, Edward Grach, Ilya Kaler, Ryo Terakado, Oleh Krysa, Ryo Terakado, Gregory Fine, Rhoda Scott and a many other great musicians. Anastasia won numerous awards at international competitions as a  violinist (since 2000) and  composer (since 2013) . She is the author  and main organizer of her educational projects  –  "First  Publication,"  "Russian and Japanese Music," (in frames of Cross-culture year) and  Edward Elgar Chamber Music Festival.

In  2012 she was awarded by Certificate of Merit of Elgar Society (UK) –  the only one musician-performer in Russia and CIS countries. The first digital album «From Prelude to Code» was released in 2014 on MySpace, and includes electronic music and music for acoustic and electric violin. Her piece "Mirage" was represented at KLK New Music Festival (2013) and was recorded by Friction Quartet in frames of «String Quartet Smackdown» (USA, 2016).

Between 2016-2018 Anastasia composed and published three albums and eight singles in

different genres, not counting active work as violinist and composer (music from baroque to

avant-garde).

The album PEACE OR WAR was on 21st  line of Alternative Music Chart, and  instrumental

single "Violin Monster," was on 35th line in USA Instrumental Music Chart. In 2017 two of releases hit the first place in REDMP3 chart (Vocal and Alternative). In August 2017 the authoritative music magazine  ROCKCOR  published a review  for  the song by Anastasia. Anastasia  also participates in charity projects, and she is a Member of Public Chamber (Moscow region).

Her suite  "Affection Saga"  was performed at well-known contemporary music festival MUSICA APERTA (Switzerland, 2018).

March 20, 2018  was the date of the release of the new album  SOLOPERA. The album

includes  songs written in 2017 and 2018. Here, as well as on the other albums,  Anastasia sings and plays all the instruments herself.  SOLOPERA is   the  title of  the  central  vocal-instrumental composition , which  was  composed as a mini-opera monologue. Philosophical ideas of  finding the  meaning of life, overcoming obstacles, lyricism and joy of being are  the main aspects of poetry. Music here is a mix of genres and styles,  which reflects the versatility of the  modern world, in which traditions  and modernity are combined.

Founded in 1997, the American magazine NEW MUSIC WEEKLY published a press release

of Anatasia's album SOLOPERA. During 2018 Anastasia was a Jury member at several competitions for young musicians. September 2018: Anastasia became Finalist of  Baku Jazz Festival (as vocalist, Azerbaijan) and "Future Blend Project" as acomposer (United Kingdom), also she received a Certificate of Attendance of International Conducting Masterclasses with professor V.Ponkin (International Music Production Agency).

November and December 2018: the project «Russian and Japanese Music» - concerts and master-classes for young musicians. In January 2019, Anastasia received the Certificate of completion of  the course «The Art of Music Production» from Berklee College of Music. Anastasia was chosen to participate in the project “New Opera World”  with the performance of the part in D.Puccini’s opera "Sister Angelica". An  Vedi is also awarded by The Elgar Medal, The Akademia Music Awards, she  is the Member of the international Singer-Songwriters Association.  2020, ISSA Best Female Song of the Year 2020, she took part in  prestigious international projects as a vocalist -ISSA Theme Song 2020,  Salero Global Recordong Project and Global Christmas Carol Project.

She  has the certificate of achievement of the course "Teaching the Violin  and Viola: Creating a Healthy Foundation" by the Northwestern University  (USA). An Vedi is the first-ever Russian member of The Indie Collaborative (the USA).
