John Weber began writing songs in his teens, writing both funny songs and parodies to popular songs of the sixties. With a keen and sometimes offbeat sense of humor, John primarily wrote songs as a hobby until 2009 when he married his wife Ruth, a classically trained musician.

Early in their marriage, John observed Ruth create several children’s albums (writing songs, recording instrumentalists and vocalists, producing albums, etc.). John was inspired to begin his own songwriting in earnest. Although he has no formal musical training, John always enjoyed singing in church and school choirs. As a teenager, he taught himself to play drums. And now as a burgeoning songwriter in his seventies, John has had to teach himself to plunk out melodies on the family piano. He writes songs in whatever genre inspires him at the time.

From very serious and melancholy songs, to whimsical, clever, happy and bawdy songs. He is not hindered by writing in any one genre, but writes songs in whatever form or style that inspires him. John’s first, self-produced EP album, The Banks Of Skibbereen, is a collection of seven all new Irish Pub songs that were inspired by a tour through Ireland. John fell in love with the country, the people and their beautiful Irish accents. Inspired by his wonderful experiences in Ireland, John began penning lyrics to Irish style Pub songs he wished he had heard in the Irish Pubs. The result is his debut album, The Banks Of Skibbereen.
