King Thurber
IC-US-UT-North
Utah-based King Thurber is a player extraordinaire, composer and producer. Anything with strings and frets and unique keyboard arrangements. With roots in raw rock and roll, hear splashes of acoustic, Jazz, Latin, Classical and even Electronic music. Americana caught up with King. His songs have a wry modern rural twist. With vocals slightly north of Neil, he’ll stick with being classified a Songwriter.
“King Thurber's While Thinking of You adds to the nostalgic tradition of dusty Americana music that still gleams with a patina of tradition and well-worn care.”
~ Erin Moore, City Weekly
“The songwriting is solid, the musicianship grand, and the recording/mixing/mastering is as good as any I’ve heard” - JDL, Fan

Spoiler - yes this Thurber is the same music composer and sound designer of pivotal 90’s videogames including Clue, Stratosphere, Simpsons, NBA Jam and many other published titles. Great training ground for composition!
King is a world citizen having toured in Europe, lived in Alaska and Costa Rica and recorded Brasilian music. And enjoys respected friends from every continent.
Just wrapped up sound design for the independent movie “Demolition Girl” a roaring romp through the world of demolition derby culture with roots in solid friendship.
King Thurber also performs as High Desert Humourist Kaliante Kid spinning yarns titled, “The Buffalo Revolt”, “Backwards Trout” and “The Dog Switch”. Picking original songs like “Funny Lizards”, “Sugarman” and “The Whitest Shoes in Nashville”. And a smattering of unoriginal songs he likes.
In the queue are more albums: “King of the Blue Guitars” – My name is King and my Guitars are Blue and “King Thurber, Esquire” focusing on the many voices of a 1959 Fender Esquire resurrected one Easter Sunday.
